We have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's July 4th parade. The extended period of extreme heat has created unsate conditions for participants, volunteers, spectators, and public safety personel.
During parade time, air temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees, asphalt surface temperatures in excess of 150 degrees. These conditions significantly increase the risk of heat-related illness and pose an extreme safety hazard. We appreciate your understanding and hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July.

🚲 Important E-Bike Reminder for Mount Ephraim Residents 🚲

Beginning July 19, 2026, New Jersey laws governing certain electric bicycles and low-speed electric vehicles will take effect. These changes may require some riders to obtain a driver’s license, registration, insurance, and comply with additional equipment and operating requirements.

To help residents prepare, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) began scheduling appointments starting today for individuals who need to obtain the necessary licenses and registrations before the new law takes effect.

If you own or are considering purchasing an e-bike, we encourage you to review the new requirements and determine how they may apply to your vehicle. Taking a few minutes now can help ensure you are ready and operating legally when the law goes into effect.

For complete information on the new e-bike regulations, classifications, licensing requirements, and frequently asked questions, visit:

Stay informed, ride safely, and help keep Mount Ephraim’s roadways safe for everyone! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

E. Buckingham paving project update:

MEPD would like to provide residents with an update on paving of E. Buckingham Ave. EARLE crews are working diligently to get the road done. Milling of the roadway should be complete by end of day Thursday 5/28 allowing residents to access their driveways throughout the weekend. Full paving will be set for Monday 5/1 with a tentative completion date of Tuesday 5/2.

We apologize for the inconvenience, however as the saying goes, “beauty is pain,” and in the end we will have a beautiful new road.

Crime Update:

In the early morning hours on May 18, many residents may have noticed an increase in police presence. Please be aware there is no danger to residents. The response was the result of multiple vehicles that had been left unlocked and had been burglarized. The suspects were located, however ran from police. The investigation is currently ongoing.

MEPD encourages residents to keep their vehicles locked as this will greatly decrease the opportunity for these burglaries to occur. MEPD thanks its residents for their cooperation and reminds everyone to stay vigilant, if you see something, say something.

🚨 Public Service Announcement – Winter Storm Parking Notice 🚨

With a significant winter storm expected tomorrow, residents are reminded of the Borough’s snow parking regulations.

Per Borough Ordinance 410-15A, parking on the improper side of the street is prohibited once snowfall has covered the roadway. During the storm, all vehicles must be parked on the even-numbered side of the street.

⚠️ This message serves as your official warning. Patrol officers will be actively monitoring roadways and will issue citations to vehicles parked on the odd-numbered side once snow accumulation begins.

Our goal is not to cite residents, but to ensure compliance so Public Works crews can safely and effectively clear the streets. Your cooperation is essential to keeping roads accessible for emergency vehicles and safe for all residents.

đź’˛ Please note: Violations carry a fine of up to $50 and require a mandatory court appearance.

We respectfully ask all residents to:
• Use their driveways whenever possible, or
• Park only on the even-numbered side of the street during the storm.

Please share this information with your neighbors.

Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in keeping our community safe.
