October is National Book Month!
What are you reading??

10/03/2026

Tomorrow starts a very important week, Banned Books Week!

Every year, readers, authors, educators, librarians, and everyone who opposes censorship are encouraged to get involved and protect our freedom to read.

"Why would I want to read a banned book? That's against the rules!"
Well, have you read Harry Potter? Looking for Alaska? ACOTAR? Captain Underpants? To Kill a Mockingbird? The Bible? The Diary of a Young Girl?

Oh, you have? Well then you HAVE read a banned or challenged book! You rebel you; we like you!!

Celebrate by reading another banned book, we have more than a few waiting for you!

Ok, so we got busy this summer and slacked off on the weekly questions, BUT the kids love writing their answers on the white board, so we've switched to 🌟Question of the Month!🌟

This month the question is "Who/What is your favorite monster from a book?"

Don't forget to stop in to grab coloring contest pages AND a rubber duck for Duck-tober!! Entries must be returned to us by Saturday, October 17! Join us for cake and cookies at Party Time! and vote for your favorites!

It's almost Duck-tober!!

Enter the Duck-tober Duck-orating contest with your quackiest ideas! Use your creativity and craft supplies to make costumes and even props to turn your duck into whoever or whatever you want them to be! Perhaps a character from a book? Maybe a creepy spider? A queen on her throne?

We can't wait to see what you come up with!

09/24/2026

Our Dala horse is nameless!

We need your creativity and ideas to come up with a list of names to choose from!

We have a few thoughts, but the more the merrier!:
Läsaren which means "The Reader" in Swedish
and
Pippi-as in Pippi Longstocking, the famous, free-spirited, Swedish book character!

Are you very punny and have a pun-tastic book or library themed naming idea? Or perhaps something in Swedish that would just make for a fantastiskt (that means amazing!) name?

Post your suggestions here!
