You might think that voting in person is straightforward, but there are nuances, specially for first time voters, people who have moved... or those who may need some help.

The people working inside, including the judge of elections, and the people who ask for your name and signature, are trained to help.

Here are photos, from our meeting last night, presented by a county poll worker. She said they all, regardless of party, really feel passionate about their work and ensuring fair elections.

For those voting by mail, don't delay mailing it in or driving your ballot to the county Board of Elections. (Lancaster County does not have a drop box.) Several people said they think it is already too late to mail it.

If you have a mail-in ballot, and want to vote in person, take all three parts to your local polling place and surrender it. You will need the outside envelope, the yellow envelope and the ballot itself.

Did you know? More than half of all Pennsylvania mail ballots have already been returned, and the mail ballot return rate is higher this year than it was four years ago.

Make sure you return your ballot as soon as it's ready so your voice can be heard!
You can return it by USPS or by delivering it in-person at a county designated location. Learn more: vote.pa.gov/returnballot

“Do people in China have the same rights you do? Yes, they do. They absolutely do.”

This statement was made by State Representative Tom Jones, who is running for Pennsylvania State Senate.

But is it true?

Do citizens in China have the same freedom of speech as Americans? Are they free to publicly criticize their government, protest its policies, or openly challenge their political leaders without fear of punishment?

There is a significant difference between having fundamental human rights and living under a government that protects those rights.

Before accepting a statement as fact, ask questions. Look at the evidence. Think critically.

Especially when the person making the statement is seeking public office.
