Making Connections, Building Community! 🌟

Durand was proudly represented by our Director of Family Support Services, Laura Gaffney, at the Camden County Care Management Organization Provider Fair, held October 7th at the Scottish Rite! With 200 community organizations and hundreds of attendees, this wonderful event provided an opportunity to connect with families, fellow service providers, and community partners while sharing Durand's mission of Helping Individuals With Special Needs Learn and Grow. Laura consistently goes above and beyond as an ambassador for Durand, bringing her knowledge, compassion, and enthusiasm to every opportunity to connect with our community. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication to raising awareness of Durand's programs and services and helping families discover the resources and support available to them. 🍂 **Celebrating Culture, Community & Inclusion This October** 🍂

October offers many opportunities to recognize the cultures, traditions, histories, and experiences that enrich our communities. Throughout the month, we honor observances including **National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Italian American Heritage Month, Polish American Heritage Month, Filipino American History Month, and LGBTQ+ History Month**, along with meaningful cultural and religious celebrations such as **Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Diwali, and more**. At Durand, we believe that learning about and celebrating the experiences of others helps create a more welcoming and inclusive community where everyone is valued. Together, we celebrate the diversity that makes our Durand family—and the communities we serve—stronger. 🌎🤝

🎒📚 There’s nothing quite like the start of a new school year at Durand! Over the past month, it has been wonderful to once again hear the laughter, learning, and excitement filling our halls as our students and staff settle into another great year together. We were also delighted to welcome our families for Back to School Night, giving them an opportunity to meet our dedicated teachers, learn more about our curriculum, and discover all that makes the Durand School community so special. This hands-on role is perfect for someone with general maintenance experience who takes pride in keeping vehicles, facilities, and equipment safe and running smoothly. The position pays $25/hour and requires at least two years of general maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds. Our hearts—and our stomachs—are full after an incredible **Durand Dine & Donate Dinner at Alisha’s 5 Star Dive Bar!** 💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us, purchased tickets, made donations, stopped by to show their support, and especially those who took the time to share stories with us about the loved ones with autism in their lives. Those conversations were such a meaningful reminder of **why we do what we do** and the incredible community surrounding Durand.

And a HUGE thank you to the fabulous team at **Alisha’s 5 Star Dive Bar in Williamstown!** From the beautiful private room and delicious dinner to the absolutely next-level specialty **“Durand” drink menu**, your staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make the evening special. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and partnership! ⭐

**But we’re not finished yet!** There are still a few days left to support Durand simply by enjoying a meal at Alisha’s.
