Fire Prevention Week 2026.
We hosted approximately 165 Pre-K thru 3rd grade students and their teachers at the fire station this year.
We look forward to this annual event to teach the kids some fire prevention tips and recruit them to help us keep themselves and the community safe.

Elevated fire danger is forecast across much of the area on Monday due to the combination of gusty southwest winds, low relative humidity values, and dry fuels.

🚜 Harvest is underway across Illinois!

As farmers head to the fields, remember to give farm equipment plenty of room and slow down, especially when traveling on small rural roads.

Large tractors and combines may move slowly, take up more of the roadway, and make unexpected turns. Be patient, stay alert, and wait for a safe opportunity to pass.

🌽 Slow down. Give them room. Help everyone get home safely.

We had a surprise visit this morning from Melissa Snow and Susan Scheller representing St. Francis Hospital. They delivered a box of goodies to the fire station to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks on America and as a thank you to all those who answer the call.

On behalf of all those who "answer the call"; Telecommunicators, EMS, Police, and Fire, we are honored to receive this package and grateful for our local agencies and hospital personnel who work together each day to provide for our communities.
