Just wanted to to remind everyone that the City of Mount Pleasant will be hosting its annual BBQ festival beginning Friday, October 16th thru Saturday, October 17th. To accommodate the festival we will have e to close some streets beginning Friday. At 3 pm, We will close Main Street from Church Street (Post Office) to Bond Street. Also, The section of Hay Long to Goodloe and the section of Blue Grass to Howard Street will be
blocked off as well.

The festival is scheduled to end at 6 pm Saturday. Afterwards, we will get the streets back open as soon as possible.

We hope you will make plans on attending this year’s event.

Public Please Notice: The construction company working on our new library must close a section of North College Street to replace the existing manhole. The street closure will be on today, October 13th and will remain closed through Wednesday, October14, 2026.

We asked that you avoid North College for the next couple of days. We apologize for any inconvenience this may create.

UPDATE: Mary Dickerson has been located and is safe!

UPDATE: Mary Dickerson, the subject of a , remains missing and is believed to be on foot.

The 85-year-old was last seen on Thursday near the Trace Creek Road area in Hohenwald.

Mary was last seen wearing a black and white flannel shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes.

She has a medical condition that may impair her ability to return safely without assistance.

The TBI, THP, and Lewis County Sheriff’s Office have been conducting ground and aerial searches. We ask that you remain vigilant and check any trail cameras you may have in the area.

Great News!!!!!! We have identified the two (2) men in the picture and the case has been resolved. Thanks to everyone for sharing our post!

We need the public's help: On September 4, 2026, a "hit and run" occurred at the Dollar General Store located at 713 North Main Street. Below are pictures from the store's cameras that show two (2) while males and the Ford F350 Dually truck that were involved. If you can identify the two (2) gentlemen and/or the Ford truck, please contact the Mount Pleasant Police Department at 931-379-3201 or email Sergeant England at [email protected].
