πŸ€ DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS IN 4-H? πŸ€

It's Week 4, and we're heading to the HORSE BARN! πŸ΄πŸ’š

Did you know there are SO many ways to participate in the Isabella County 4-H Horse Program? Whether you enjoy pleasure, speed, trail, showmanship, or working with your horse from the ground, there's something for everyone!

✨ NEW IN 2026 β€” IN-HAND CLASSES!

Last year, we introduced In-Hand Halter, In-Hand Trail, and In-Hand Jumping for mini and non-rideable horses! These classes take place on Wednesday, and we're hoping to continue expanding these opportunities!

🀠 NEW THIS YEAR β€” RANCH DAY!

We're excited to continue growing our Horse Program with the addition of a NEW Ranch Day! Youth will have even more opportunities to show their skills with:

🐴 Ranch Conformation
🐴 Ranch Pleasure
🐴 Ranch Riding
🐴 Ranch Trail
🐴 Ranchmanship

We're always looking for ways to expand opportunities and give youth new experiences!

🎑 WHAT DOES FAIR WEEK LOOK LIKE?

🐴 Wednesday: Trail, In-Hand Classes, Ranch, Reining, Command & more!

🐴 Thursday: Showmanship, English & Western Classes

🐴 Friday: Speed/Gymkhana β€” Pole Bending, Barrels, Keyhole, Cloverleaf, Indiana Flag & more!

🐴 Saturday: Overall Showmanship, Cloverbud Day, Costume Classes & Horse Fun Day!

πŸ’š DON'T LIVE IN ISABELLA COUNTY?

That's okay! Youth do NOT have to live in Isabella County to participate in our Horse Program!

πŸ€ HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED?

To participate, youth must belong to a 4-H horse club with a Horse Leader or Gold Volunteer involved in the horse program.

Already belong to a 4-H club? You don't have to switch! You can add a horse club as your secondary club!

🐴 OUR HORSE CLUB OPTIONS:

πŸ€ Aim High
πŸ€ Barn Yard Kids
πŸ€ Barrel Benders
πŸ€ Clover Valley
πŸ€ Farm Hands
πŸ€ 4Ever Friends
πŸ€ Lucky Clover
πŸ€ Rural Routers
πŸ€ Tally-Ho
πŸ€ Western Spurs

✨ NEVER SHOWN A HORSE BEFORE? THAT'S OKAY!

You don't have to know everything before you start! Our horse program is about so much more than showing. Youth learn responsibility, animal care, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence while building friendships and memories along the way.

4-H is where you LEARN by DOING! πŸ’š

πŸ€ Enrollment is OPEN for the 2026–2027 4-H year!

🎯 Help Support the Future of Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports!

An exciting matching opportunity is available to help grow the Hal and Jean Glassen 4-H Shooting Sports Endowment through the Michigan 4-H Foundation!

The Hal and Jean Glassen Memorial Foundation has committed a $50,000 matching challenge over the next five years. Each year, up to $10,000 in donations will be matched dollar-for-dollarβ€”meaning your gift can have TWICE the impact!

Funds from the endowment provide long-term support for Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports and help youth continue to build valuable skills in leadership, responsibility, confidence, outdoor education, and conservation.

Whether you’re a current 4-H family, alumni, volunteer, shooting sports supporter, or simply believe in creating opportunities for youth, you can help make a difference.

🎯 Give today and double your impact:

Happy National 4-H Week! In honor of National 4-H Week, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War, Mr. Stephen Simmons, shared a special video message from the Pentagon, celebrating the leadership and resilience of our military-connected children, youth, staff and 4-H staff and volunteers. The 4-H Military Partnership provides military youth with consistency, community, and leadership skills wherever their Service journey takes them.
