A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and participated in CPR Day today!

We greatly appreciate Black Township Fire Department, CountryMark ERT and wadesville Fire Department for coming out and taking part. We also want to give a special thank you to all of our instructors who gave their time to help make the day run smoothly and provide quality training.

Days like today are a great reminder of what can be accomplished when departments, organizations, and instructors come together with one goal—being better prepared to help save a life when it matters most.

Thank you again to everyone who participated, instructed, and helped make CPR Day a success! 🚒❤️

Friends, You may have seen a post today about the county having meetings to establish a county wide fire district. We want to ensure the Mt Vernon residents that this does not include the City of Mt. Vernon, we have served the city since 1880 and will continue to do so, no matter what the county decides to do. We support our brothers and sisters in the county and what they are trying to accomplish with this endeavor.

On the Eve of 9/11 Twenty-five years later, We have not forgotten. Not in our minds, and not in our hearts.

We remember the 343 who ran toward danger and never came home. We remember every first responder, every service member, and every innocent life lost that day. We remember how this country came together, and how the fire service became one family. And without being Political, with the turmoil that surrounds our County at this time, We need that again more than ever...

Tomorrow, we will stand watch over our City here in Mt. Vernon with that same promise in our hearts: "We will never forget." We will always honor the sacrifice by doing the job they loved, serving others above ourselves.

God bless our fallen, their families, and all who continue to serve...
