Standing together for peace, healing, and hope. 💜✨

The Mount Vernon Youth Bureau joined forces with our incredible community-based organizations (CBOs) on City Hall Plaza to honor Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Together, we raised our voices, shared vital resources, and stood in solidarity with survivors and families impacted by domestic violence.

The afternoon concluded with a powerful group prayer and a purple balloon release—sending up our collective strength, love, and remembrance into the sky. 🎈🙏

We remain committed to building a safer, more supportive Mount Vernon for our youth and families. If you or someone you know needs support, please know you are never alone.

Please join us tomorrow (10/15/26) at 3:00 PM sharp on the steps of City Hall as we pause for a moment of silence and paint the city purple in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This brief gathering will last no more than 30 minutes — a small but meaningful way to remember the family members, friends, and loved ones taken from us too soon due to Domestic Violence.

Come as you are. Stand with us. Remember with us. Wear PURPLE 💜
