Today, Mount Vernon Fire Department had the privilege of spending the day with the students at Mount Vernon Elementary School for fire safety education!

We talked with students about who to call in the event of an emergency, the importance of knowing their home address, and why they should never be afraid of firefighters when we are wearing our full protective gear. We want every child to know that we are there to help keep them safe!

All 450 students were able to take home a junior firefighter helmet and a goodie bag! We always enjoy the opportunity to get out into our community, spend time with our local students, and teach the next generation important fire safety lessons.

A special thank you to Mount Vernon Elementary School for allowing us to come out and spend the day with your students!

One of our Junior Firefighters has achieved his Level 1 Firefighter Certification through the Kentucky Fire Commission!

In just one year with our department, Junior Firefighter Bobby Noble has accomplished something truly remarkable. This certification typically takes around two years for a probationary firefighter to complete, but Bobby has gone above and beyond to reach this milestone ahead of that timeline.

Level 1 certification requires 115 hours of training in specific areas, and Bobby has shown the dedication, hard work, and commitment it takes to get the job done. His willingness to learn and continue growing in the fire service is something to be proud of.

This is a huge accomplishment for Bobby and a proud moment for our entire department. We are excited to see what the future holds for him and look forward to watching him continue to grow as a firefighter.

Help us give Junior Firefighter Bobby Noble a round of applause for this outstanding achievement!
