❄️HELP KEEP OUR COLD WEATHER SHELTER RESIDENTS WARM!❄️

As colder weather approaches, Skagit Friendship House is asking our amazing community to help keep our Cold Weather Shelter residents warm, safe, and comfortable this winter.

We are collecting donations of new or clean, gently used items:

🧥 Winter coats — adult sizes
🧶 Warm hats
🛏️ Blankets
🛁 Towels

Every donation makes a difference. These items provide more than warmth and comfort — they remind our neighbors experiencing homelessness that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Skagit Friendship House extends our heartfelt gratitude to Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church for their generosity, service, and more than four decades of partnership with our organization.

Their volunteers recently dedicated their time to sorting clothing donations, organizing storage areas, sharing lunch with residents, and building meaningful connections through conversation.

Their visit to the Skagit First Step Center was about more than lending a helping hand. It was an opportunity to foster connection, demonstrate compassion, and remind our neighbors that they are seen, heard, valued, and supported.

We are deeply grateful to Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church for your continued commitment to serving our community demonstrates the power of compassion and the lasting impact of showing up for one another.

Thank you for being such a valued part of the Friendship House community. We are grateful for your partnership and for the difference you continue to make in the lives of our neighbors.

Forty years of roots - and one really special afternoon. 🌾💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Terramar Brewstillery on September 19 for our Forty Years of Roots Harvest Festival.

It was such a joy to see so many familiar faces and new friends come together to celebrate Friendship House. From the live music and raffle to the incredible meal prepared by our Hunger to Hope trainees, the day was full of good food, good people, and a whole lot of community.

Most importantly, your support helps Friendship House continue providing meals, shelter, housing support, and opportunities for people to build a new path forward right here in Skagit County.

A huge thank-you to our Presenting Sponsor, Terramar Brewing & Distilling, for opening their space to us and helping make this event possible. We’re also incredibly grateful to Puget Sound Energy, the Public School Employees of Washington, and the local businesses that donated raffle prizes, our volunteers, musicians, staff, trainees, and everyone who helped bring the day together - especially Draper Valley who supplied the chicken used by our H2H Trainees in our delicious meal.

Forty years wouldn’t have been possible without this community - and we’re excited for everything still ahead.

Here’s to the next forty. 💛

Friendship House is proud to participate in Stand Down events, connecting Veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability with resources, support, and community partners.

These events provide Veterans with access to essential services including food, clothing, health screenings, housing resources, employment assistance, and referrals for additional support.

We’re honored to be here, to share information about Friendship House, and help Veterans connect with the resources they need. ❤️
