Schedule: M-F 2x/day (morning arrival/school dismissal)

UPDATE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND, OCTOBER 4TH

TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR SUNDAY 9/27

Denville's Pink Witches 5K Race will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from approximately 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Mountain Lakes residents should be aware that the route includes several roads in town.

Broadway will be closed between Bloomfield Avenue and First Avenue from approximately 5:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

Eastbound Pocono Road will be closed beginning at approximately 9:00 AM. The roadway will begin to reopen as the ambulance follows the final walker through the course.

The race course will travel through portions of Second Avenue, Diamond Spring Road, Pocono Road, Laurelwood Trail, Pinewood Lane, Rainbow Trail, Fernwood Trail, Lakewood Drive, Ridgewood Parkway East/West, Route 46 West, Bloomfield Avenue, and Broadway.

The race is expected to conclude by approximately 11:00 AM.

Residents traveling through the area during these times are encouraged to plan an alternate route and allow additional travel time.

AUGUST 2026 POLICE BLOTTER

ARREST
On August 2nd, 2026, at approximately 3:17 PM, Sergeant Grady conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 46 East that led to the arrest of the 26-year-old driver out of Union City for possession of narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia. The driver was charged and subsequently released. Due to the ongoing investigation, the driver’s identity is not being released at this time.

ARREST
On August 5th, 2026, at approximately 11:01 AM, Patrolman Borst conducted a motor vehicle stop that led to the arrest of 23-year-old Anthony Jimenez of Paterson for an active NCIC warrant out of Old Bridge Township. Mr. Jimenez was transported to police headquarters where he was held until taken into custody by Old Bridge Township Police Department.

ARREST
On the evening of August 18th, 2026, Morris County Communications Center informed patrol of an incident involving a motor vehicle that eluded Denville Police Department after the initiation of a motor vehicle stop.

At approximately 11:28 PM on the same evening, Sergeant Brown located the suspect vehicle on Route 46 and attempted a motor vehicle stop. The driver began driving the vehicle in a manner which posed a threat to the public. Sergeant Brown initiated a motor vehicle pursuit which was ultimately terminated without apprehension.

After the driver’s identity, 33-year-old Christopher Cox of Keansburg, had been established by Denville Police Department. Sergeant Brown subsequently charged the suspect with eluding law enforcement as well as motor vehicle summonses for reckless driving, careless driving, failure to signal, disregarding marked lanes, and driving the wrong way in a lane of travel.

These summonses were served to Christopher Cox on August 20th, at the Morris County Correctional Facility where the suspect was being held following his arrest by another agency.

**A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.**

ARREST



On July 4th at approximately 1:00 AM, patrol received a call from a concerned citizen about a man who was possibly intoxicated at the Wawa gas pumps. Patrol met with the allegedly intoxicated male and determined that he had driven while intoxicated. The call for service resulted in the arrest of 64-year-old Everitt Douglas, of Randolph. After cooperating with DUI processing, Mr. Douglas was released pending a mandatory court date and multiple citations. Summonses included driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and reckless driving.



ARREST



On July 16th at approximately 11:06 PM, Ptl. Bryan conducted a motor vehicle stop that resulted in the arrest of 54-year-old Jeannette Madera, of Rockaway, for driving while intoxicated. After cooperating with DUI processing, Ms. Madera was released pending a mandatory court date and multiple citations. Summonses included driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, and failing to keep right.
