Student and staff safety is very important to us. While we can’t control every situation, we can prepare—and help students and staff know what to do in an emergency.

Our safety practices are guided by comprehensive school safety plans and are designed to be sensitive and age-appropriate. Practicing these procedures helps students feel more confident and prepared to respond with safety in mind.

Tomorrow (Oct. 15 at 9 a.m.), MVWSD schools will hold an earthquake drill to practice “duck, cover and hold” and evacuation procedures. This year’s drill will be shorter than those held in the past.

Thank you for supporting our ongoing efforts to keep our schools safe and prepared.

There's no school today for students, but class is *in* for teachers who are hard at work on the MVWSD Way. They're collaborating to develop assessment questions aligned with state standards and designed to deepen student learning.

This important work is part of The MVWSD Way—our shared approach to teaching and learning, focused on high-quality instruction, student engagement, and growth for every student. Read more here: http://mvw.sd/way

Our schools celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with colorful and engaging activities, including food, crafts, scavenger hunts, music, cultural displays, and more! Students had opportunities to explore the rich cultures, traditions, and histories of Hispanic and Latino communities. These celebrations are a wonderful way to build connections, share traditions, and learn from one another.
