Beautiful and fascinating wildlife live in the fields and forests surrounding our cities and suburbs. In one of our special summer events on Monday, June 15, bring the whole family to gain an insight into the secret lives of these intelligent and ecologically important animals. We’ll learn about grey foxes, kingsnakes, red-tailed hawks, and skunks!

This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Mountain View Library.

Summer Reading starts today! Visit the Children’s Room, Teen Zone, and second-floor desk to pick up a scratcher card to get started on your journey. Kids and teens need to read for 30 minutes to scratch off one dot, and adults need to complete the activities on the back of their card to make progress. Come back to the Library to claim your prize after you’ve scratched off all the dots on your card.

Kids who pick up their cards in the Children’s Room can also work on a seed kit activity while inside the Library. Ask for the box of Summer Reading Craft supplies at the desk and use your imagination to make “seeds.” Give your seed packet back to Library staff so they can pin it to the wall. Come back after you’ve scratched off some dots on your card for a different activity!

Register for Summer Reading at MountainView.gov/SummerReading. All ages, from infants to adults, are welcome to participate.
