24th Assembly candidate forum hosted by non-profit Innovate Public Schools in East Palo Alto. Concerned parents are seeking alternatives to low performing schools in Ravenswood School District. They see charter schools in other low income Bay Area communities do much better.

Appreciate your vote!

Nice lunch and mingling with members at Palo Alto Rotary Club candidate forum today.

Moderator Diana Diamond hammered leading Democrat candidates about all the special interest group mailers flooding voters' mailboxes.

I'm the Council representative on the Moffett Airfield Restoration Advisory Board (RAB). Google's Planetary Ventures (PV) unit gave an update on airfield projects including Hangar 1 at the RAB meeting this past week. PV will be inspecting the large curved doors rollers and rails. We may be able to see the doors opened in a couple weeks.

I participated in the Silicon Valley Leadership Group's 24th Assembly candidate forum this week. The forum was held at Brocade Communications headquarters is San Jose.

The format was unique in that we were interviewed around a large rectangular arrangement of tables with about 70 people from numerous companies and advocacy groups. I am second from the right of the five candidates in the photos below.

The next 24th Assembly candidate forum is Tuesday May 10 7:00 pm at the Mountain View Library.

I attended Mountain View's Co-housing open house last weekend. This co-housing project on Calderon Avenue has 19 condominiums with a common dining and entertainment room, exercise room, workshop and garden. Susan and David Burwen (pictured with me below) toiled for years getting the project approved, financed and built.

The project includes the restored Abbott farmhouse from the estate of the previous owner, Ann Bakotich

League of Women Voters Candidate Forum at Sunnyvale Library

I spoke at the candidate LWV candidate forum on April 17, letting voters know about my career in aerospace at Lockheed and parallel career as a commissioner and Councilmember in Mountain View.

I explained how we have balanced budgets in Mountain View and how i would promote better fiscal management in Sacramento.

I also mentioned the need to address the staggering unfunded state pension and healthcare liabilities. We have adressed those challenges in Mountain View with employee cost sharing.

Please vote for John Inks on June 7!

Donald Trump supporters think about morality differently than other voters. Here’s how. 04/23/2016

Emily Ekins gave a fascinating talk about the Moral Foundations of the 2016 Presidential election: “Donald Trump supporters think about morality differently than other voters.”

Note: I do not endorse Donald Trump's candidacy

Donald Trump supporters think about morality differently than other voters. Here’s how. How on Earth can anyone vote for that ... [fill in the blank]? This is a question some Americans ask during every presidential primary race, but this year our mutual incomprehension feels especially intense.
