๐ข Mountainside Public Library Closed Until November 30
The library is closed until November 30. Our roof replacement is making progress, but weโve run into some unexpected challenges, including construction-related leaks and water damage that needed remediation.
Unrelated to the roof project, on October 6, there was a fire in the underground power lines that lead to the library. We are relieved that nobody was injured and there was no property damage. Unfortunately, in order to restore power, the underground power lines have to be replaced. As a result, the library will remain closed until November 30 while these problems are remediated.
While our building is closed, we want to make sure you can still get what you need. Hereโs how to keep borrowing and what to know about holds and returns.
๐ Digital resources: eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, movies, music, and language lessons are available from home at mountainside library. org.
๐Holds: You canโt place holds for pickup at the Mountainside Library or the Mountainside Library Pickup Lockers, and all existing holds for those sites are paused until we can receive items again. Your holds have NOT been cancelled, and you wonโt need to place them again. You may place new holds for pickup at any other Pillar library, such as Summit, New Providence, or Berkeley Heights.
๐ Returns: Please hold onto your items or return them to another Pillar library. There are no late fines or lost-item fees if items are returned once we resume accepting materials, and you can disregard overdue notices.
๐๏ธ Browsing: Visit any Union County library or most Middlesex County libraries to browse and borrow directly from the shelves. While you may visit and borrow from other nearby libraries, you may not place or pickup holds at Union County libraries other than Summit, New Providence, and Berkeley Heights.
๐ณ๏ธ Ballot drop box: The ballot drop box remains accessible through Election Day.
