Today is World Mental Health Day. A good reminder that checking in shouldn't wait until things feel overwhelming.

Too often, we push through. We tell ourselves we're fine, or that others have it harder, or that we'll deal with it later. But taking a moment to honestly reflect on how we're doing is one of the simplest and most powerful things we can do for ourselves.

So today, try asking yourself:

- What have I been feeling lately?
- Am I more stressed, tired, irritable, or withdrawn than usual?
- What's actually been helping me feel better?
- Is there something I've been carrying on my own that I haven't talked about?
- Who could I reach out to if I needed support?

And don't forget to check in on others. Send the text. Make the call. Ask how someone is doing, and mean it. You don't need the perfect words or the ability to fix anything. Sometimes just showing up and making space for an honest conversation is enough.

Today, check in. With yourself. With someone you care about.

Mental illness doesn't always look the way we might expect it to.

It could be the friend who seems fine but has been quietly struggling for months. The coworker who is always the first to check on everyone else. The family member who laughs the loudest in the room. Mental illness doesn't announce itself. And that's part of what can make it feel so isolating for the people living with it.

In reality, mental illness is far more common than most of us realize. But it doesn't define a person or determine what their life can look like. With the right support, people heal, grow, and thrive every day.

So what can you do to make a difference? Connection. Conversation. Recognizing that the people around you can handle you telling them you're not okay.

The more openly we talk about mental health, the easier it becomes for someone to recognize they might need support, and actually reach out for it. You don't have to know exactly what's wrong or have the right words. You just have to be willing to start the conversation.

This Mental Illness Awareness Week, we're inviting you to do just that. Check in on someone. Share your own experience with them if you feel comfortable. Or simply let the people in your life know that they can be honest with you.

You never really know what someone might be carrying. But you can make sure they know they don't have to carry it alone. šŸ’š

If you or someone you love is considering mental health treatment, you may have heard the terms IOP and PHP and wondered: what do they actually mean?

While Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) both provide more structured support than traditional outpatient care, they aren't exactly the same.

So what’s the difference? How do these programs fit into the broader mental health care continuum? And what can you expect from each?

In our latest post we break down some of these common questions like:

šŸ”¹What IOP and PHP are and the key differences between them
šŸ”¹Who each level of care may be appropriate for
šŸ”¹What to consider when deciding where to start

Whether you're looking for care for yourself, supporting a loved one, or making a referral, this guide can help you better understand your options.

CSG is proud to celebrate two major milestones along with our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Front Line Supervisors (FLS) who have earned certifications through NADSP’s E-Badge Academy. šŸŽ‰

As of September, 100 DSPs and half of our FLS team have officially earned certifications through NADSP’s E-Badge Academy! This represents hours of learning, skill-building, and commitment to providing high-quality support to the people we serve.

These certifications recognize expertise in important areas including Crisis Intervention, Medication Administration, First Aid, and Respecting Confidentiality. And behind every badge is a CSG employee who chose to invest in their skills and grow as a professional.

To all who reached these awesome milestones: thank you for your dedication to learning, growing, and going above and beyond for the people you support.

We’re proud of your commitment and so happy to celebrate you!

DSP Week continues! šŸŽ‰

As we continue celebrating Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, we’re proud to share this year’s proclamation from Governor Josh Shapiro recognizing the essential role DSPs play in communities across Pennsylvania.

DSPs support people in pursuing their goals, building independence, participating in their communities, and living the lives they choose. Their work takes skill, patience, compassion, and commitment—and it matters.

Thank you to the DSPs who show up every day for the people they support. We’re proud to celebrate you not just this week, but all year long.

It’s Direct Support Professional Recognition Week! 🫶

September 13–19th is a special time to recognize the dedicated professionals who support people with disabilities every day. And at CSG, we’re especially grateful for the incredible DSPs who make a difference in the lives of the people we serve.

DSPs do far more than provide support. They help people build independence, pursue their goals, participate in their communities, and live their lives to the fullest. They advocate, problem-solve, celebrate milestones, navigate challenges, and show up with compassion and reliability every day.

To all of our amazing DSPs: thank you for the care, patience, dedication, and heart you bring to your work. Your impact is felt every day by the people you support, their families, and the communities you help make more inclusive.

Please join us in celebrating and thanking our DSPs this week—and every week!
