SULLIVAN AMBUCS HALLOWEEN PARADE RETURNS TO THE SQUARE OCT. 31
A Sullivan Halloween tradition since 1928

SULLIVAN, Ill. (Oct. 19, 2026) The Sullivan AMBUCS invite families from all over Central Illinois to the Sullivan Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 31, 2026, on the Square in downtown Sullivan. Line-up begins at 5:00 p.m., and the parade steps off at 5:15 p.m.

The Halloween parade has been a Sullivan tradition since 1928, and it has always been a big draw for families from across the area.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- 10 CASH prizes for the best costumes
- A KING-SIZED candy bar for the first 300 parade participants
- 5 celebrity judges
- Open to anyone of any age, and completely FREE
- Trick-or-treating all over town that night

"For almost 100 years, this parade has been the night Sullivan kids and grown-ups look forward to all year long," said Gerry Wood of the Sullivan AMBUCS. "Picture your kids marching around the Square in the costume they've been dreaming about, hearing the crowd cheer for them, and grabbing one of those king-sized candy bars because you got there early. You'll be smiling right along with them. So pick out that costume, bring the whole family, and come be part of the tradition with us!"

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT
After the parade, stop by Sullivan High School's annual Haunted Hallways, held that night at Sullivan Middle School. Grown-ups without kids in tow can end the evening with a good scare at Izabella's Curse haunted attraction, 2121 S. Imboden Ct. in Decatur, open 7 to 11 p.m. on Halloween night.

RAIN LOCATION: Sullivan Elementary School gym. Line-up at 5:15 p.m., step-off at 5:30 p.m.

AMERICA - Twenty-five years ago today, our nation experienced the deadliest terrorist attack in U.S. history. While we solemnly recall the pain and devastation of that day, we also honor the heroes, the first responders, and the unity that defined our collective resolve.

We remain steadfast in remembering the innocent lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, aboard Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, and in the years following. We express our enduring gratitude to the brave individuals who risked everything to serve others. We will never forget 9/11.
