Last night, Muir Fire was dispatched to Route 209 in the Keffer’s Mountain area for a reported vehicle accident with entrapment. Upon arrival, 3 total patients were found, with 2 to be heavily entrapped still in a vehicle that had impacted a tree. Due to manpower shortages, equipment needs, and the complexity of the rescue, multiple additional rescue companies were requested to the scene. Crews worked through multiple challenges and utilized many unique rescue skills to extricate the patients. EMS units as well as fire units worked together over the course of almost an hour to accomplish this task. We thank all of our mutual aid for their support and help on this event and others. Our thoughts are with the patients and their families. No further information or media will be released of this incident.
