We have not received substantial enough rain to lift the Burn Ban as a reminder it is still in effect!

The Bond County Fire Chief's have advised of a BURN BAN in effect for all of Bond County Fire Districts until further notice. This includes the Fayette County portion of our district.

🔴 🔴 NO BURNING IS PERMITTED 🔴 🔴

This includes, but is not limited to, trash barrels, bonfires, campfires, controlled burns, etc.

Remember, if you start a fire, you are ultimately responsible for the fire and any person or property that is affected by that fire.

Happy to share that we were awarded $10,000 in matching funds through this grant for the purchase of new equipment!

IDNR has awarded $495,000 in federal grants to 73 volunteer fire departments across the state to help with purchasing new equipment or paying for fire training.

The Volunteer Fire Capacity (VFC) grant program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The program provides matching funds to aid fire departments in the purchase of new equipment and helps fund training. Funding is passed through IDNR to local fire departments and fire training academies.

The 73 grantees provide fire protection to about 250,000 Illinois residents, primarily in rural areas of Illinois.
