π₯ BURN BAN LIFTED β CRAWFORD COUNTY π₯
Good afternoon, Mulberry area residents!
We finally received enough much-needed rain for the burn ban in Crawford County to be lifted. While conditions have improved, we want to remind everyone that lifting the burn ban does not mean the fire danger is gone.
π BEFORE YOU BURN β MAKE THE CALL.
If you are planning a controlled burn, please notify the Crawford County 911 Communications Center at 479-474-8000 and let them know where you will be burning. This simple phone call helps our dispatchers and firefighters distinguish a controlled burn from a possible emergency when smoke or flames are reported.
If you choose to burn:
β’ Have a responsible person remain with the fire at all times.
β’ Keep a water source or other means of extinguishing the fire immediately available.
β’ Never leave a fire unattended.
β’ Do not burn during high winds or when conditions could allow the fire to spread.
β’ Make sure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.
β οΈ Remember: It is against the law to burn household trash or similar materials. Outdoor burning should be limited to allowable natural vegetation such as leaves, grass, brush, and other natural materials.
It looks like the dog days of summer are finally behind us, and fall is slowly making its way into the picture! π
Campers and hunters, please take extra precautions with campfires. Even though we have received some much-needed rainfall, once this precipitation dries out, fire danger can quickly return. Before leaving a campsite, make certain your fire is completely out β if itβs too hot to touch, itβs too hot to leave.
π₯ Our request to everyone is simple: Call before you burn. Stay with your fire. Keep water nearby. Put it completely out.
One unattended or uncontrolled fire can quickly become an emergency. Please help us protect our homes, property, woods, and neighbors by burning responsibly.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep Mulberry and the surrounding area safe.
Please be careful and stay safe!
