Delaware County Flood Disaster Recovery Update
October 20, 2026
Delaware County Emergency Management would like to share several important updates regarding ongoing recovery efforts from the August 2026 flooding.
Temporary and Long-Term Housing Assistance
If you have received or requested housing assistance through FEMA, you may receive a phone call from a representative working on behalf of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS).
These representatives will identify themselves as Tidal Basin and will be following up with residents to assess their temporary and long-term housing needs.
We encourage impacted residents to answer these calls so their housing needs can be better understood and addressed. Residents should never provide banking information or payments to anyone claiming to offer FEMA assistance.
FEMA Individual Assistance – Deadline Approaching!
The deadline to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance is Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Residents impacted by the August flooding who have not yet applied are strongly encouraged to do so before the deadline.
