❤️ A THANK YOU THAT MEANS SO MUCH

We recently received a thank-you card from a grateful family who wanted to recognize Sheri Miller and Leslie Cook, along with the first responders at our Eagleville Station, for the care they provided to her husband.

After noticing unusual symptoms, his wife reached out for help. Sheri and Leslie responded, listened carefully to her concerns, and took action. The family later learned that he had a 98% blockage in his “widow maker” artery.

Her message ended with these words: “We cannot say how grateful that we are for the excellent care! Thanks to Sheri and Leslie!”

We are grateful to receive messages like this and proud of the compassion, professionalism, and dedication our crews bring to every call. Thank you to Sheri, Leslie, and all our first responders who make a difference when it matters most. ❤️🚑

❤️ OCTOBER IS SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST AWARENESS MONTH

Would you know what to do?

Someone suddenly collapses. They’re unresponsive and not breathing normally. CPR begins, 911 is called, and someone asks:

“Where’s the AED?”

Would you know?

An AED can deliver a potentially lifesaving shock when needed while CPR continues and EMS is on the way. But first, someone has to know where to find it!

📍 Your workplace
📍 Your child’s school
📍 Your church
📍 Your gym

Take a few minutes this October to locate the AEDs where you spend your time. Hopefully, you’ll never need one, but if you do, you’ll be glad you knew where to look. ❤️

National Night Out in La Vergne was a real treat! 🌭

Paramedic Sean Davenport and AEMT Hayley Corn had a great time connecting with the community, snapping a photo with the one and only Oscar Mayer Wienermobile (because how often do you get to see that on the job?! 😂), and even getting a special photo request from Mix 92.9!

We love getting out into the community, meeting our neighbors, and making memories along the way. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello! ❤️

🚑🚒 BETTER TOGETHER: A FIRST FOR RUTHERFORD COUNTY!

This week marked a first for Rutherford County as Rutherford County Fire Rescue and Rutherford County EMS came together for joint training, learning as one team to strengthen collaboration and improve patient outcomes!

RCFR completed their biennial Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, led by Assistant Chief Cody Smith, alongside RCEMS’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training, led by Training Captain Trey Cook.

Using our SimMan simulator, crews worked through hands-on emergency scenarios together, building communication, coordination, and confidence for real-world emergencies.

A special thank-you to the RCEMS team members who rotated throughout the week to help facilitate scenarios and support this collaborative training effort. Your time and expertise helped make this first-of-its-kind opportunity possible!

By training side by side, we’re strengthening the teamwork that carries over into the field, helping make emergency responses more seamless and efficient when every second counts.

Different departments. One mission. Stronger together! 🤝

🚑 September was a busy one!

Our crews responded to 4,416 calls for service throughout Rutherford County.

But here’s where the numbers get interesting..

📈 Did you know? Our average daily 911 demand has increased 8.4%, rising from about 120 calls a day to nearly 130 calls a day.

📍 Three ZIP codes make up 64% of our 911 call volume: 37129 • 37167 • 37130

That means nearly 2 out of every 3 911 calls are coming from just three ZIP codes!

Numbers like these help us better understand where demand is happening and how our community is growing. 🚑📊

Take a look at the graph below for the full September breakdown!

The Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force will host a free, family-friendly Trunk or Treat event Tuesday, Oct. 27, beginning at 5 p.m. on Samsonite Boulevard near the Tennessee Highway Patrol Driver Services Center.

Families are invited to drive through the event, where first responders from multiple public safety agencies will greet children and hand out candy. Parents and caregivers will also receive traffic safety information and resources.

The event combines Halloween fun with an opportunity for families to meet local first responders and learn important tips for staying safe on the road. The Trunk or Treat is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

📸 Models for Hire! 🚑

For one day, these five traded the ambulance for the spotlight and got a little taste of the modeling life!

The Ambiance Group, in collaboration with TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center Administration, recently brought in some of our local first responders for a photoshoot, with the finished artwork set to be displayed in StoneCrest’s newly renovated administrative offices.

And honestly… they may never be the same after this. 😐

Pictured L to R: AEMT Owen Deocales, Paramedic Graydon Wilson, Captain Jonathan Renberg, Paramedic Mark Taylor & Paramedic Jerod Sandoval.

We’re just hoping this newfound fame doesn’t affect their willingness to answer the radio. 😉🚑
