It’s unusual to imagine a day without water since just over 70% of our planet is covered by oceans, lakes, and rivers. (hat tip to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for that data)

However, we’re referring to the clean, reliable water distributed via infrastructure and managed by water utilities throughout Tennessee.

Bill Lee has issued a proclamation for Thursday, October 15 to “Imagine a Day Without Water.”

It’s worth noting that Tennessee’s population stands at 7.3 million – it’s highest ever – and that we rank among the top states for water quality (hat tip to dailypassport.com)

Without water treatment, there is no Consolidated Utility District (CUD) – and we’re seeking candidates for the role of Water Treatment Plant Operator.

This role monitors and optimizes water treatment to ensure our safe, high-quality drinking water is in compliance with all federal, state, local, and CUD requirements.

The staff at our plant has earned a number of awards for operational excellence, and a successful candidate will help us maintain those high standards.

In an era when the average American worker stays at a job just over 4 years, CUD professionals stay with our utility over 9 years.

If you’re looking for a career with purpose and work that serves your community, let’s talk.

To our customers in the Indian Hills, Savannah Ridge, and Sommersby subdivisions:

During this month, our third-party contractor will be in your area to carry out repainting of all fire hydrants that serve your subdivision. This means you may see our contractor managing the work.

We operate over 6,000 fire hydrants in Rutherford County, and re-painting helps with the maintenance and visibility of each one.
