After 28 years of dedicated service, we celebrated the recent retirement of Karlene Hildebrand from Food Services at MCCH, where she served as a Clerical Aid and Service Aid.

Over the years, Karlene has been a familiar face to so many at MCCH. She has made lasting connections with both her coworkers and the patients she served, and she’ll certainly be missed by the many people who have had the pleasure of working with her.

Now, Karlene is looking forward to a well-deserved retirement filled with sleeping in, staying up late, reading, catching up on her favorite shows, and lots of crafting!

On October 15th, we will gather to honor and remember babies lost during pregnancy or infancy and to surround families who carry their memory with love and support.

After 28 years of dedicated service, we celebrated the recent retirement of Lois Justice from Food Services at MCCH.

Throughout her years at MCCH, Lois has been a familiar face and a valued friend to so many. Her time here has been filled with friendships and memories that will last well beyond her retirement.

While we will certainly miss seeing Lois each day, we’re happy for her as she begins this new chapter; filled with a little housecleaning, plenty of relaxing, and enjoying life!

We had a packed house with nearly 100 people joining us today for Hope & Healing: You Could Save a Life, our Su***de Awareness Lunch & Learn led by Dr. Abby Dowdy, Clinical Psychologist at MCCH!

Dr. Dowdy reminded us that su***de prevention isn’t limited to those working directly in mental health or prevention - it starts with each one of us.

A special thank you to Jennifer Rehmus, MCCH Medical Staff Coordinator, for sharing her personal testimony and helping make today’s conversation even more meaningful.

This morning, we celebrated an incredible milestone at MCCH - Dr. Brian Swain’s 1,000th robotic surgery! 🎉

Dr. Swain has been instrumental in the success and growth of our robotic surgery program, performing MCCH’s first robotic-assisted surgery in 2023. Since then, he has continued to expand the use of this advanced technology for a variety of surgical procedures such as bariatric surgery, cholecystectomies, colectomies, appendectomies, and hernia repairs.

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Swain and this remarkable achievement and thank him for his continued dedication to advancing surgical care for our patients and community.

Congratulations on 1,000 robotic surgeries, Dr. Swain! 💙💛

🎉 Congratulations to our August Employee of the Month, Mary "Sue" Doran! 💙💛

Sue has been a dedicated member of the MCCH team for nearly five years, serving as a Unit Secretary on 4 South. She's been described as “the glue that holds 4 South together day in and day out" with a welcoming smile, positive attitude, and willingness to go above and beyond for patients, visitors and coworkers. From finding special activities to comfort patients with memory issues to recognizing patient birthdays and anniversaries, Sue continually looks for ways to make others feel cared for.
