We appreciated the opportunity to welcome Representative Miller-Meeks to the Mississippi Valley Child Protection Center and share more about the work being done to support children and families impacted by abuse. We appreciated the opportunity to discuss the growing needs we are seeing in our community, including concerns about online safety and protecting children from harm.

Yesterday, we hosted Youth Mental Health First Aid training for our staff and community partners. We are grateful to Jen Craft, Director of Public Health for Muscatine County, for leading this important training and helping participants build the skills needed to recognize, understand, and respond to mental health challenges in young people.

Mental health is just as important as physical health, and early intervention can make a lasting difference in a young person's life. We encourage schools, youth-serving organizations, caregivers, and community members to learn more about Youth Mental Health First Aid and consider participating in a future training. Together, we can create a community where every young person feels supported, heard, and connected to help when they need it most.

💙 When we all know how to recognize the signs and respond, we can change lives.
