Musser Public Library We are Musser Public Library, a presence in downtown Muscatine, Iowa since 1902. We're glad you're here.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Friends of the Library Book Sale!
Friends only preview sale:
Thursday, October 22, 4pm-8pm (memberships available to purchase at the book sale)
Public Sale:
Friday, October 23, 10am-6pm
Saturday, October 24, 10am-2pm

We are open to the public, but work is happening! Please bear with us as we accommodate equipment needed for a new roof.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
-The alley from Walnut St. to the dumpster will be closed.
-The staff parking lot will be closed (which means a fewer public parking spaces).
Please note that the library and outdoor book drop will be open as usual, but it will be noisier than usual, too!
We hope to see you the next time you stop by.

🍂 Fall is a great time to come to the library! We have plenty of cozy reads to choose from and some great programs coming up. Be sure to check out our new recurring program, Beyond the Baton, in partnership with the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra! We’ll also have a special after-hours Ghost Hunting program for adult patrons on October 30. As always, there is something for everyone at the library. You Belong Here!

TeStrake Brothers Co. began as a handler of cordwood. In 1903, the company started using by-products from a local oatmeal company to make the first commercial livestock feed manufactured in Muscatine County. In addition to its flour and seed business, the firm also engaged in trucking, using large and small trucks for moving and hauling.

Originally located in the 100 block of West 3rd Street, the business relocated to 207 Green Street in 1958. The last time I can find TeStrake Brothers listed in the Muscatine City Directory is 2001. The building at 207 Green Street remained until 2017, when it was torn down.
