🔥 Before the Cold Weather Settles In…

Furnaces are turning on, fireplaces are being used again and space heaters are coming out of storage. Taking a few minutes now can help prevent an emergency later.

Before heating season gets into full swing:

▪️ Have furnaces, fireplaces and chimneys inspected
▪️ Keep anything that can burn at least three feet from heating equipment
▪️ Test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
▪️ Never leave space heaters unattended or running while you sleep
▪️ Make sure everyone in your home knows two ways out

A little preparation now can make a big difference when the temperatures drop.

Stay warm and stay safe, Muskego!

A quick fall reminder from TCFD

The cooler mornings are starting to show up, and it won’t be long before the heat is running regularly again. This is a good time to take a few minutes around the house:

▪️ Test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
▪️ Schedule an inspection for your furnace or chimney if it’s due.
▪️ Keep anything that can burn at least three feet from space heaters, fireplaces and other heating equipment.

It’s easy to put these things off when the weather still feels like summer. Taking care of them now can help keep your family safe when the colder days arrive.

Stay safe, Muskego!

Thank You, Helmet Heroes!

All summer, we loved seeing kids around Muskego wearing their helmets. We handed out ice cream coupons to help celebrate those good choices, thanks to two local businesses: **Frozen Frog Ice Cream** and **Milk Can**. Thank you both for helping us make safety a little sweeter!

And to all the kids who wore their helmets: keep it up. Summer may be over, but your helmet still belongs on your head every time you ride.

Thanks for helping us look out for one another. Stay safe out there!

On September 11, our community took time to remember the lives lost and to show a great deal of kindness to our members. We want to say thank you.

Students from St. Paul’s in Muskego visited us and brought donuts and sweets. Our neighbors at Stair Crest treated us to lunch. We were honored to attend the 9/11 ceremony at St. Leonard’s School, and we received more cards and thank yous than we can count.

To everyone who took a moment to visit, write a note or simply say thank you: it meant a lot to us. Your kindness reminded us why we do this work and how fortunate we are to serve this community.

From all of us at TCFD, thank you. We’re humbled and honored to be here for you.

Generations Serving Together

One of the strengths of Tess Corners Fire Department is the wide range of experience within our membership.

Our 93 members range from their teens to their 70s, bringing together newer members learning the fire service and experienced members who have spent decades serving the community.

With 59 members under the age of 40 and another 34 members age 40 and above, TCFD continues to bring generations together serving and protecting the Muskego community.

Some members are just beginning their journey in the fire service. Others have been answering calls for decades. That combination of new energy, experience, mentorship and community involvement is an important part of what has kept TCFD serving Muskego for more than 100 years.

Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001, but time has not lessened the weight of that day.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost in New York City, at the Pentagon and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. We honor the passengers, flight crews, civilians, military personnel and first responders whose lives were taken.

We also remember the survivors, the families who lost loved ones and everyone who continues to carry the effects of that day.

TCFD joins our community and our nation in remembering them all.

We will never forget.
