Resource Friday Spotlight: Christmas Party hosted by the Muskegon County Lions Club

Looking ahead to the holiday season? The Muskegon County Lions Club is hosting a special Christmas Party for individuals who are blind or visually impaired, as well as those who may be spending the holidays alone.

Our next community exercise class schedule launches October 1 and we're excited to share that everyone loved this class mix so much that we're keeping the same schedule through April 30, 2027. Expect the same movement, motivation and opportunities to stay active as we head into fall and winter.

Join us September 15 – 17 for another great week of Discount Dine. Dinner is served Tuesday - Thursday from 4 – 6 pm.

This week's menu includes:
- Tuesday: Pork Chop Suey with white rice, corn, squash, and ambrosia salad
- Wednesday: Beef Stew with mashed potatoes, California blend vegetables, green beans, and fruited yogurt
- Thursday: Pork BBQ Sandwich with baked beans, wax beans, tropical fruit, and string cheese

Some moments in history leave an imprint on our hearts forever. Today, we remember the lives that were lost, the families forever changed and the countless acts of courage, sacrifice and compassion that emerged on September 11, 2001.

In the midst of unimaginable tragedy, people came together. Strangers helped strangers. First responders ran toward danger. Communities united in grief, resilience and hope.

As we reflect today, may we honor those we lost by embracing the values that carried our nation forward in the days that followed: kindness, service, compassion and care for one another.
