The rain we have been receiving is amazing. It is needed very much to help diminish the drought conditions we are still currently experiencing. BUT that doesn't mean you are safe from fire dangers around your home. Here are some tips to help prevent fires even during rainy days.

Going along with our fundraiser this year we are offering our annual gun raffle as well. NO LIMIT for buyers. $5/ticket or 6 for $20. Reach out to any Mutual firefighter for tickets. Winner will be announced at our annual fundraising supper on October 17th. You do not have to be present to win. Money is due at time of ticket purchase. Must be able to pass background check for guns if you win!

Yesterday, Mutual firefighters held a limited to zero visibility training course. We were able to send our team through the obstacle course where they faced numerous challenges. Some of the things they faced in the course were “ceiling collapse”, numerous confined/restricted passages, victim search and rescue, debris burying the attack line, thermal imaging camera use and communication with Incident Command. It was a rather hot training day where these young men pushed through it and worked very hard!

Save the date. Our annual fundraiser dinner will be October 3. As we have always done we will have beef, pork, calf fries, sides, and desserts.

As fall approaches and our daylight hours decrease, we want to stress the importance of having a clearly marked driveway. If first responders have a difficult time locating your residence (especially in the dark), the services we can provide will be delayed. Whether it be a mailbox with reflective numbers/letters or a simple sign at the end of your driveway, the faster we find you, the faster we can help you.

Reflective decals can be purchased just about anywhere online or in brick and mortar stores. Several sign shops in Woodward and online would be happy to make you a reflective sign, much like a street sign.
