Give it up for CDT Welebir on his exceptional performance for the month of September. CDT Welebir is an MS I Cadet who is committed on our Ranger Challenge team and is striving in both ROTC class and lab.
He is a Kinesiology Pre Med student here at SFA. He is from Athens, TX and he enjoys drumming, watching sports, and working out in his free time.

Last Friday, CDT Michael Beierle took a step forward towards his Army career by officially contracting! We are so proud of his dedication towards the Lumberjack Battalion. CDT Beierle is currently a MS 2 Cadet, Austin Raider Candidate Master, Co Captain for Ranger Challenge, and on our Cannon Crew team. We cannot wait to see what accomplishments await him in his future!

We are off to a great start this fall semester with our first tactical and land nav labs done! There’s always a learning curve getting back into tactical movement and land navigation through thick brush, but the team put in the work. Before sunrise, the Lumberjack Battalion completed the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
25 years ago, 343 firefighters,
71 law enforcement officers, and countless heroes displayed unmatched courage, facing unimaginable danger to protect others.
Every step on these stairs is more than just physical weight, it is our duty as future leaders to carry forward their courage, sacrifice, and selfless service.
We climb because they climbed. We will never forget.

The Lumberjack Battalion brought the heat for this squad competition, and we were honored to have our Brigade Command Team, COL Decker and CSM Gilmer, right there in the mix setting the pace.
