The squadron has been busy with promotions, character development, a high school recruiting event, and PT night the last few weeks. The safety of the cadets is essential, so most of our outdoor activities have been moved inside for the colder months. The cadets have been creative in finding indoor games after completing PT tests.

Our squadron has a handful of cadets and one adult member attending Winter Raptor VIII over in Oregon this week. Our team is represented within the Cadre, ATS, and Basic encampment. A huge thank you to Lt. Slack and Maj. Rogers from the Boise Composite Squadron for driving the cadets to and from encampment. This week, our squadron celebrated the final promotions of the year. We were honored to host Brig. Gen. Shannon D. Smith, Idaho Air National Guard Commander and Assistant Adjutant General of Air at Gowen Field. He gave a compelling talk on leadership and awarded several cadets with their milestone achievements. We also celebrated a change of command ceremony, promoted cadets and adult members, and honored parents for their hard work supporting the Nampa Composite Squadron. Last but certainly not least, the cadets attended their required safety briefing.

We send our deepest condolences to our Colorado wing members. Our thoughts are with you all.
We are deeply saddened to share that earlier today, a Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182 crashed in Larimer County, Colo., while participating in a search and rescue training exercise. There was one survivor and two fatalities.
CAP will cooperate fully with the NTSB in the investigation. We are grateful for the outpouring of support from our members, communities, and partners, during this difficult time.
