Idaho voters need to know that Prop 1, which they'll vote on in this November election, is full of vague and misleading language that will result in an extreme abortion law. As Rep. Brandon Mitchell for Idaho State House tells us, Prop 1 portrays itself as "moderate" and "commonsense," when in fact it redefines viability to allow for late-term abortion, and it conflicts with Idaho's longstanding parental consent laws, meaning underage girls could get abortions without their parents' knowledge or consent.

There is a lot of misinformation about doctors leaving Idaho because of abortion laws. Perhaps some are leaving, but the net total is increasing. I found this graphic helpful. Vote No on Prop 1!

The source of this data is the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL). Doctors practicing medicine in Idaho must be licensed through DOPL. Here's how you can check for yourself.

1. Go to dopl.idaho.gov
2. Click "Get a List of Licensees"
3. Select "Board of Medicine"
4. Select the four license types for physicians in Idaho:
• Physician and Surgeon (MD)
• Physician and Surgeon (MD) - compact
• Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon (DO)
• Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon (DO) - compact
You need to run the search separately for each.
5. License Status: Select "Active"
6. Specialty: Select "Obstetrics & Gynecology

Run each search and export the lists.
Thanks to Idaho Chooses Life for preparing the graphic.

Rep. Clint Hostetler for Idaho of District 24, Seat A, sat down with us to discuss the many deceptive aspects of Proposition 1, how it conflicts with Idaho values including overriding parental consent and liberalizing the definition of an unborn baby's "viability." Be sure to vote NO on Prop 1!
