The department provides primary coverage to the City of Nanticoke and W. Nanticoke (Plymouth
Twp.) Located in Luzerne County, with a population of 11,000, the department covers approx. 3 sq. in the City of Nanticoke and also provides primary fire protection to the W. Nanticoke section of Plymouth Twp. Our essential mission and number one priority is to deliver the best possible service to the communities we serve. The Nanticoke City Fire Department takes pride in its ability to serve the needs of our communities. Each day, our citizens call upon our Firefighters to respond to a variety of emergencies including residential and commercial fires, emergency medical responses, hazardous materials and special rescues. Fire prevention and education also play a major role in our service to the community. The Nanticoke City Fire Department is committed to the preservation of life and property and to increase the quality of life to our citizens.
