Wednesday morning, Napa County SEIU 1021 showed up with coffee, donuts, purple tablecloths, and a simple message:
“Brew Up Some Respect”
“Donut Forget — We’re Here for You”
Over the last several months, too many workers across our workplace have expressed feeling unsupported, discouraged, isolated, or simply unheard. So this morning wasn’t about speeches or confrontation. It was about presence.
We gathered early, shared coffee and conversation, checked in with one another, laughed a little, and reminded our coworkers of something important:
A union is not just negotiations, grievances, or meetings.
A union is people showing up for each other.
Thank you to the stewards, Executive Board Members, our Union Representative, and workers who stopped by before the workday began. Small acts of solidarity matter. Sometimes a cup of coffee, a donut, and knowing somebody has your back can say a lot.
Purple looks good in the workplace. 💜

This educator has captured it just right:
Stacy Davis Gates, president of the Illinois Federation of Teachers and the Chicago Teachers Union, said billionaires need to pay their fair share. “Not taxing the ultra-rich leaves schools without teachers, libraries without books, unsafe bridges, shuttered hospitals, and the rest of us paying more...We want a different future where students and communities have what they need. It’s going to take all of us organizing together to make that happen.””

We’re preparing to get art ready for May Day and ongoing campaigns, events, and community defense actions. We’re going to be hanging out painting banners, making things from cardboard, and building some giant puppets of your favorite Bay Area resisters! We’ll provide food, music, and art supplies. We can arrange on-site childcare and accommodate other access/ participation needs if you let us know.
Join us March 19th and April 16th from 6-8pm.
