The moose-head shaped growth was part of a large eucalyptus tree that was cut down to make way for a housing development. And it is still being painted!
Up until the end of 2015, the Napa Tree Moose, a well-known local landmark in Napa, California, jutted out of a large tree looking over a vineyard just south of Alston Park. While residing on Dry Creek Road, the moose changed colors constantly. For years, the moose was a canvas visited by many artists who often transformed the moose in the veil of night.
