Yesterday, Officers with the Napa Police Department Honor Guard attended the memorial service of California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Liles, who was tragically killed in a traffic collision in Tulare County. While at the service, NPD Officers were honored to learn about Officer Liles’ many accomplishments to include being awarded the Visalia area Officer of the Year in 2025. Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Liles’ family, friends, and colleagues at the California Highway Patrol. Rest in Peace Officer Liles. You will not be forgotten, and your legacy will forever carry on.

Some of our patrol officers recently attended the "Dude who care" event at Napa High School and were able to have meaningful conversations with some of the students.

More than 30 men from across Napa gathered at Mayacamas County Wide Middle School Tuesday morning for “Dudes Who Care,” an event designed to connect students with positive male role models and show them their community is behind them.

Toni McIntosh was out at Shearer Elementary School today supporting our students as they kicked off their morning with Walk & Roll to School Day! 💙

This annual event encourages students and families to walk, bike, or roll to school while promoting health, safety, active lifestyles, and a strong sense of community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today a fun and safe way to start the school day!

Today, officers with the Napa Police Department attended the memorial service of retired Vallejo Police Department Detective William “Billy” Carpenter who passed away on September 23, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. For those in attendance, it was truly an honor and privilege to stand among those who knew and worked alongside Detective Carpenter.

Detective Carpenter had many friends throughout the surrounding law enforcement agencies including ones with the Napa Police Department. Detective Carpenter was the definition of excellence while serving his community, but most importantly he was a loving husband and father. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues with the Vallejo Police Department.

Rest in peace Detective Carpenter. Although his life and service have come to an end, the impact he has made on those around him will continue to live on.
