Two days. One shared mission.

Last week, the Volunteer Mentorship Initiative brought together our Implementation Partners — the organizations selected to lead mentorship inside Tennessee's 14 state prisons — for an intensive training and alignment summit.

The moment created unity, passion, and a shared understanding of the work ahead.

Mentorship changes lives. And thanks to these partners, it's about to change them across Tennessee.

A significant moment for the 20,000 men and women incarcerated today across Tennessee prisons ...

Nine Tennessee-based organizations -- selected as the Volunteer Mentorship Initiative's Implementation Partners -- will recruit, train, and support thousands of mentors inside the state's fourteen prisons.

Everyday Tennesseans -- not experts, not caseworkers -- volunteers from all walks of life will spend 18-months with these men and women as they return home from prison to our communities.

We celebrate this moment today with these organizations, their leadership and staff, and their volunteers, for their service to impact the future of Tennessee. Thank you!

Be part of strengthening communities and advancing human flourishing across Tennessee.

Human Flourishing is a collective effort to help families move from crisis toward stability and meaningful work. This approach is already making a measurable impact in communities across the United States—and now, here in Middle Tennessee, it is moving from idea to action.

Over the past few months, 49 organizations—nonprofits, churches, and public partners—have come together around a shared commitment: to better serve our neighbors by working as a coordinated network rather than in isolation. This gathering marks the beginning of that work in motion.

On May 13th we are inviting nonprofits, government agencies, and community partners to come together to:

* Learn more about the Human Flourishing framework and the shared software that will support this work

* See how your organization’s expertise fits into a more connected system of care

* Explore what coordinated, collaborative work can look like in our local context

* Hear from nonprofit, faith, and government leaders

This is not about replacing the work already happening. It is about strengthening it—so that together, we can ensure no neighbor falls through the cracks, and more families have a clear path toward lasting stability and meaningful work.

More than 350 leaders across four sectors -- non-profits, state government, venture philanthropy, and faith-based communities -- came together in unity yesterday for the Middle Tennessee Faith & Community Summit. The theme this year is "Wicked Problems" with presentations by Governor Bill Lee, Tennessee Department of Human Services Commissioner Clarence H. Carter, and four sector leaders serving the most vulnerable Tennesseans.

This is the second Summit hosted by the TN Governor's Faith-Based and Community Initiative, with one coming to Memphis and Knoxville soon.

We envision a Tennessee where every individual and family has the opportunity to flourish—no matter their starting point. By building community-led ecosystems of care supported by state systems, individuals can move from crisis to stability, stability to thriving, and thriving to flourishing.

This shared vision transcends any single department or eligibility category. It is a community-driven, statewide movement, supported by state and local agencies, that aligns government, nonprofits, and faith communities around what matters most: people living with stability, purpose, and well-being.

That is the commitment of the and the practical implementation happening right now in Williamson County ... and soon in Knox and Shelby counties.
