Stop by the Edgehill Branch this Saturday at 2pm as we unearth the stories of enslaved and free African-American men and women who built and defended Fort Negley. This was the largest inland stone fort built during the Civil War. The fort is Nashville’s only UNESCO-designated Site of Memory (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Hear from a descendant of the space, and a professor working with her to discover all that had been buried. Featuring guest speakers Jeneene Blackman and Dr. Angela Sutton. Refreshments provided. Open to adults and families.
