Proud Dad Alert! MNPS reports came home and both kids made the honor roll, but what was the icing on the cake was I was told my daughter went to a friends house and saw a Bill Hancock sign in the yard and said, “Oh, you’re voting for him! You know he can’t cut property taxes and that’s a lie, right?” 🤣🤣🤣

It’s such a blatant lie, even a 8 year old knows it. This is one reason why our house is supporting Mark Proctor TN as he is an honest, good hearted public servant running for the State House of Representatives.

Great to be in Washington, D.C., for the National Association of Medicaid Director (NAMD) conference! 🇺🇸 Enjoyed connecting with CMS, state Medicaid leaders, and health plan executives while learning about the latest in healthcare. Also had the opportunity to tour the U.S. Capitol and take in a little American history!

One of the things I love about the City of Forest Hills is the tradition of displaying American flags at the city entrances between Memorial Day and Labor Day. 🇺🇸

Recently, I noticed some of the flags were looking a little worn, and I wanted to find a way to give back to a community that means so much to me.

Today, I donated 64 American flags to the City of Forest Hills so they’ll be ready to fly proudly next year.

It’s a small gesture, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to help keep this tradition alive and honor the flag that represents our great country. 🇺🇸

A good overview of the race by the Nashville Banner. I proudly support Mark Proctor TN for State Rep. because he is hard working, smart and honest. I’ll let my comments about his opponent speak for itself.

“While Hancock said property tax concerns would win him the race in what he described as the state’s most competitive district, Hemmer and others have criticized Hancock for his “misleading” campaign signs and promise to cut property taxes, which are set by local governments.

According to Hemmer, Hancock is “fleecing” people.

“I just think it’s crazy that someone would run for office with a slogan and a foundation that’s essentially a lie,” Hemmer said.”

SHERIFF DARON HALL ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT FROM PUBLIC SERVICE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After serving as sheriff of Davidson County for 24 years, and more than 35 years of service at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), Sheriff Daron Hall announced his retirement from public service Wednesday. He has a rare opportunity in the private sector which requires his departure from office by November 1. Hall’s last day with the DCSO is scheduled for October 19.

“Over the years, there have been other opportunities, but the timing and circumstances were never right,” Hall said. “While leaving after 35 years of service is not an easy decision, I believe the sheriff’s office is well-positioned for the future with strong, capable, and experienced leadership. I am committed to doing everything I can to ensure a smooth transition, both before and after my departure.”

Hall was elected to his seventh term as Davidson County sheriff earlier this year. He is both the youngest person ever elected to the office and the longest serving in Nashville history. Hall made arresting the problem, not the person, a focus. He designed and implemented the first-of-its-kind Behavioral Care Center, a nationally-recognized diversion program aimed at decriminalizing mental illness. In recent months, he secured funding for the DCSO’s southeast campus to help alleviate overcrowding, successfully challenged the State of Tennessee in court over the prolonged detention of their inmates in local jails, increased the salary for the Davidson County sheriff position, and closed a loophole in the public safety pension system.

“I have come to realize there will always be new challenges to address, and there may never be a perfect time to step away. But I am 62 years old and have spent over half my life at the DCSO,” Hall said. “The time has come for me to seize a new opportunity and begin the next chapter of my life. Serving the people of Nashville and working alongside the DCSO staff has been the greatest privilege of my career, and I will always be grateful for those who placed their trust in me over the years.”

The Metropolitan Council will appoint an interim sheriff next month and the position of sheriff will be placed on the ballot next year.
