Welcome to the Metro Nashville Police Horse Mounted Patrol The Metro Nashville Police Department Horse Mounted Patrol was established in 1998.
The Mounted Patrol is comprised of 8 full time riders and 10 horses. Riding all Tennessee Walking Horses, the Mounted Patrol provides a prestigious presence around the city of Nashville during Titans games, special events, and day and night patrols during downtown activities.

From neon lights to closing time, the horses were busy all weekend in downtown Nashville. Friday and Saturday night, the mounted unit worked Broadway and the surrounding entertainment district assisting our ground officers — breaking up fights, responding to calls, and helping keep the chaos a little more under control.
Big crowds. Loud music. A couple bad decisions. Just another weekend downtown. 🤠🚔
