It’s with great sadness that the Belmont community mourns the tragic loss of social work major DeEbony Groves, a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, who was killed yesterday in the Antioch Waffle House shooting. Our thoughts and prayers remain with her family, friends and the other victims of this tragedy, and on campus support services are being made available for Belmont community members.

Officer Spotlight: Savannah Warren, Social Media Chair
“To me, being a conservative is standing with the silent majority. It’s standing for the rights we have and hopefully will always have. It’s willing the American people to try and do their best. In the wise words of Ronald Reagan, ‘The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.’”

Officer Spotlight: Ethan Stiles, Treasurer
“To me, being a Conservative means multiple things: protecting our, the people’s, individual rights and freedoms guaranteed by the United States’ constitution written by the Founding Fathers; giving the citizenry the ability to achieve the American dream, etc. Conservatism stands for so much good; and I count it an honor to be one!”

Officer Spotlight: Christina Zubrod, Secretary
“Being a conservative to me is someone who shares strong beliefs in American tradition and values, while empowering individuals to pursue their own career and goals.”

Officer spotlight: Olivia Jones, Vice President
“Being conservative means protecting the United States Constitution and the values that protect the people from tyranny. Conservation of our nation's values is the only way to distinguish ourselves from the lack of honor and respect for this great nation that we see all around us today.”
