Happy Birthday to our girl Ta’Naisha Hillman! 🥳💚

Y’all know it was hard to find a picture of Ta’Naisha because she’s usually behind the scenes making sure everything is running smoothly. And when needed, she’s right there on the front lines making things happen.

A proud Fiskite with the best energy, Ta’Naisha is one of those people who always shows up for the people she loves. Whether it’s checking in on her grandma, supporting her family, or making sure everybody around her is good, caring for others comes naturally to her.

She’s the grounding spirit of our team. The calm in the chaos. The person who somehow keeps things moving while making everybody feel supported along the way.

We’re grateful for her heart, her dedication, and the joy she brings to The Equity Alliance every day.

And if you’ve ever wondered how all the moving pieces come together, that’s Ta’Naisha too. As our Administrative & Operations Coordinator, she helps keep our organization running, our team supported, and our work moving forward across Tennessee.

Help us wish her the happiest birthday! 🎉✨

✨💫During this workshop, we learned that it’s ok to twerk something while saying our affirmations. ✨💫 What’s your fav affirmations? ✍🏾👇🏾

We can’t believe we’ve reached the end of our four part Mindful Mondays series in Memphis and Nashville 🌿✨

Over the past few weeks, we stretched, created, listened, breathed, reflected, laughed, healed, and poured back into ourselves. We shared tea workshops, breathwork, movement, mental wellness, blackout poetry, bath salt making, music healing, medicine making, twerking, and community care.

And honestly, it came right on time 😮‍💨

From the Tennessee State Capitol to Alabama, we’ve been organizing, protesting, showing up in courthouses, and fighting for our communities across the South. Mindful Mondays reminded us that we have to show up for ourselves too.

Thank you for being part of this journey with The Equity Alliance 💛

Feed the Block Memphis 🍽️✨

It’s always about more than just a meal 🖤

People came to connect, sit together, learn something new, and leave feeling full in every way. Along with a hot meal, folks got a live cooking demo showing how to prepare healthy meals at home 👩🏾‍🍳💛

And honestly, that’s what the table has always been for. Black folks have been coming together over food for generations. Laughing, checking on each other, sharing stories, healing, and making sure everybody ate ✨

By the end of the night, people left connected, happy, cared for, and full from the same meal they learned how to make themselves 🍽️

Next Feed the Block is June 17 📍
Pull up and bring your people 💫

Last week’s Mindful Monday in Nashville located at .bar reminded us just how important it is to release what we’ve been carrying 🌿✨

Through blackout poetry workshop hosted by , bath salt making with oils an herbs, and even a collective scream we made space to let go of negativity reconnect with ourselves and heal in community 😮‍💨

Sometimes wellness looks like creativity, laughter, reflection, and being reminded that you don’t have to carry everything alone.
