Working together with one mission in mind — get the patient the care they need. Shout out to our EMS partners who are often first on scene, assessing injuries, stabilizing patients and communicating key updates to our crews.

We are sending a huge Vanderbilt LifeFlight congratulations to our April employee of the month, Kim. She does it all, from helping with the LifeFlight 1 transition, co-chairing the education committee and assisting with training for the NASCAR and Indy Car events, all while being a stellar clinician. We are so lucky to have her on our team. Congratulations Kim!

EMS week may be coming to an end, but our work never does. Since May of last year, our ground crews completed over 7,000 transports. In 2025 our air transport crews responded to over 4,000 requests, the event medicine team completed 1,662 events and our critical care ground team completed over 880 transports. To our crews, thank you. Thank you for showing up to every shift with one mission in mind - delivering quality patient care when it matters the most.

Last week was the 18th annual Star of Life Awards. Every year, this event honors EMS personnel who provide exceptional front-line care. Not only were our crews honored with three awards, but we also had the chance to thank and honor the emergency medical personnel who responded to our crew when we needed them the most. The 2026 Mutual Aid award was given to the teams who responded to our crew members Andy Sikes and our pilot on Nov. 8, 2025. As Andy said at the banquet, what you do matters, and we are forever grateful that you chose to answer the call. Saying thank you will never feel like enough, but thank you for everything you did that day.
Thank you to the Children's Emergency Care Alliance for organizing such an impactful event.
