As Hurricane Isaias strengthens and moves toward the Gulf Coast, the Priority Ambulance family of companies encourages residents across potentially impacted communities to stay informed, prepare ahead and prioritize their safety.

While storm impacts may vary by location, heavy rainfall, strong winds, flash flooding, power outages and other hazardous conditions are possible. Taking a few precautions now can help protect you and your loved ones.

⚠️ HURRICANE & SEVERE WEATHER SAFETY TIPS:

🏠 Stay Informed: Monitor local weather forecasts, emergency alerts and guidance from local officials. Follow evacuation instructions if issued.

🔦 Prepare Emergency Supplies: Have flashlights, batteries, bottled water, nonperishable food, medications and other essential items readily available.

🚗 Avoid Flooded Roadways: Never attempt to drive or walk through floodwaters. Remember, turn around, don't drown!

📱 Keep Devices Charged: Charge phones and portable power banks ahead of potential power outages.

🌳 Stay Clear of Hazards: Avoid downed power lines, fallen trees and standing water. Seek shelter indoors during dangerous weather conditions.

Across Priority Ambulance and our family of companies, our EMS professionals see firsthand how important heart health is and how quickly recognizing the signs of a cardiac emergency can make a difference.

Today is a great reminder to take care of your heart. Stay active, make heart-healthy choices, keep up with regular checkups, and know the warning signs of a heart attack or cardiac arrest.

It’s also a reminder to learn CPR. You never know when you may be the person who can step in and help save a life before first responders arrive.

Following a recent response, a patient’s spouse took the time to personally contact our dispatch team to express his appreciation for the care and professionalism Christopher and Jacob provided. He shared how pleased he was with the way the crew handled the situation and wanted to make sure their efforts were recognized.

In recognition of their excellent patient care, professionalism and compassion, Christopher and Jacob were each presented with a commendation.

First Call Ambulance, a member of the Priority Ambulance family of companies, is pleased to announce the promotion of Johnathan Swanger to Director of Operations, effective September 21, 2026. He will report directly to Sam Clark, Vice President of Operations.

Swanger brings more than 12 years of emergency medical services experience and has served as a paramedic since 2014. His extensive clinical and operational background spans rural and high-volume EMS systems and includes 911 response, critical care transport, field supervision, quality improvement, workforce development, training, and operational management.

Throughout his career, Swanger has remained closely connected to field operations while assuming progressively greater leadership responsibilities. During his tenure with First Call Ambulance, he has helped strengthen operational consistency, improve accountability, standardize processes, support field personnel, and develop systems that enhance organizational efficiency and patient care.

His leadership philosophy is grounded in clear expectations, accountability, open communication, and professional development. Swanger believes strong EMS organizations are built by investing in their people and equipping employees with the resources, and support they need to succeed while maintaining consistent clinical and operational standards.

Two years ago, Hurricane Helene left a path of devastation across communities throughout the Southeast. In the days that followed, teams from across the Priority Ambulance family of companies came together to answer the call.

Crews from Ambucare, Central EMS, First Call Ambulance, Guardian Ambulance, Medshore Ambulance, National EMS, Priority Ambulance of East Tennessee and Puckett EMS supported response and recovery efforts, providing additional ambulances, personnel and resources where they were needed most.

For our teams in some of the hardest-hit areas, including Augusta, Georgia, and East Tennessee, the response was especially personal. Crews navigated downed trees, power lines, flooding and widespread damage while continuing to care for their communities during an extraordinary time of need.

Today, we remember the lives affected by Hurricane Helene and recognize the first responders, healthcare professionals, public safety partners and community members who came together in its aftermath.

To the men and women across our eight brands who answered the call, and to those who supported them behind the scenes, thank you. Your service, resilience and commitment to your communities continue to inspire us two years later.

September is Baby Safety Month! 👶💙

For parents and caregivers, keeping little ones safe is always a priority. This month, Priority Ambulance and our family of companies are sharing a few simple reminders that can help create a safer environment for the smallest members of our communities:

🛏️ Practice safe sleep: Always place babies on their backs to sleep on a firm, flat surface, and keep pillows, blankets, toys and other soft items out of the sleep space.

🚗 Use the right car seat: Make sure your child’s car seat is appropriate for their age and size, installed correctly and used on every trip.

🏠 Baby-proof your home: Secure furniture that could tip, cover electrical outlets, use safety gates near stairs and keep cords and small objects out of reach.

🛁 Stay within arm’s reach around water: Never leave a baby unattended in a bathtub or around any amount of water, even for a moment.

🌡️ Prevent burns: Keep hot drinks, cookware and other hot items away from the edges of counters and tables, and check bath water before placing your baby in it.

⚠️ Keep potential hazards locked away: Store medications, cleaning products and other potentially dangerous items securely and out of reach.

A few simple precautions can make a big difference. Take a moment this Baby Safety Month to look around your home, review your routines and make safety a priority every day. 💙
