The Tennessee General Assembly has established conditions and procedures for restoring voting rights lost after conviction of various felonies.

The crime committed and the year in which the conviction occurred guides the procedures.

The other day, I engaged in a conversation with an acquaintance who conveyed their intention to endorse my candidacy for the position of United States Senator. While I refrain from divulging the specifics of this conversation, I feel compelled to share this prayer as I am discerning divine confirmation that my endeavors are aligned with righteousness. I humbly implore my loved ones, associates, acquaintances, and adversaries alike to consider: if the divine is in my favor, what significance do opposing forces hold?
In whom shall I place my trust? I choose to place my trust in the testimony of The Most High.

So many people feel as if their votes do not matter. Understand this. When you vote it says you want to be a part of the process of changing things for better. When you don't vote you turn your back on what could have been changed.

This year I am asking all who knows me and those who do not to make a choice to help me build a better future for all Tennesseans. It is time to change your mindset, register to vote, and make your voice loud as can be by putting me in office as your next United States Senator representing the great State of Tennessee.
The future of our children and a nation of strong women will be born this year because of the choice you make to vote.

I am asking for your support and your vote during early voting, the Primary Election, and the General Election. We must stand up in Tennessee and stand together to insure the rights of all citizens who deserve to be a part of the great voting process. I know not many people these days realize how important casting your vote is.

So join me today, by registering to vote if you haven't and help me blaze a trail from Tennessee to Washington D.C. Together we will make history when you cast your vote for me, as a woman, and as an African American Woman. It says you are ready for things to be made right and equitable for all Tennesseans.
