🛡️ It’s Medicare Fraud Prevention Week!
This week is all about helping older adults, caregivers, and families learn how to prevent, detect, and report Medicare fraud. Scammers are constantly finding new ways to target beneficiaries, but together we can help protect ourselves and our communities.
Be sure to follow the SMP National Resource Center for tips, resources, and simple ways you can help stop fraud before it happens.
📝To report suspected Medicare fraud, contact your local Senior Medicare Patrol by calling 1-877-808-2468 or visit smpresource.org to find your state's SMP program.
📞 Need free, unbiased Medicare counseling? Call Tennessee SHIP at 1-877-801-0044 to connect with a counselor near you, or learn more at GNRC's Medicare Counseling program.

The best things about aging well? There are a lot of them. 😊
Today is National Smile Day — and we're thinking about all the things that make life worth smiling about at every age.
A phone call from a grown kid. A familiar face at the senior center. Getting an answer to a question that's been keeping you up at night.
At AgeWell Middle Tennessee, we show up so older adults and their families have the information, connections, and support they need to navigate aging with confidence. From personalized guidance through Eldercare Coach to financial empowerment through RESET to our Directory of Services — we exist to make life a little lighter.
What's making you smile today? Tell us. 👇

May has been a beautiful reminder of something we believe every single day: older adults make our community stronger. 💙
As Older Americans Month comes to a close, we're grateful for everyone who shared a post, watched a webinar, scheduled an Eldercare Coach call, or simply paused to champion their health this month.
The work doesn't stop on June 1 — and neither do we. If you or someone you love needs support navigating aging or caregiving, AgeWell is here year-round.

When money is tight, a "great paying job from home" sounds like good news. It's often a scam. 🚨
Scammers know people are looking for ways to stretch their income. They'll call or text with offers for work-from-home jobs that promise great pay — and even more if you're a hard worker. But the job doesn't exist. Instead, you're asked to pay upfront costs. The money disappears. The income never comes.
If you or someone you love receives one of these calls or texts, don't engage. Hang up. Real employers don't ask you to pay to work.
Want to stay ahead of the latest scams? Sign up for our Scam of the Month email at agewelltn.org/scam-prevention — or call 615-353-4235 to schedule a free scam prevention presentation for your group or community.

Every step counts. Every day. 💙
Today is National Senior Health & Fitness Day — the nation's largest annual health and wellness event for older adults — and we're celebrating the older adults in Middle Tennessee who show up for themselves every single day.
Whether it's a morning walk, a chair yoga class, tending a garden, or cooking a nourishing meal, movement and wellness look different for everyone. And that's exactly the point. There's no single way to age well — only the choices we make to keep showing up.
At AgeWell Middle Tennessee, this is what we work for: communities where older adults are valued, connected, and supported to live life fully.
How are you moving today? Share it with us. 👇

Today we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Their sacrifice — and the sacrifice of the families who loved them — is a debt we can never fully repay.
The AgeWell Middle Tennessee office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. We'll be back tomorrow, May 26.
Wishing our community a meaningful and reflective holiday.

Today is National Legacy Day - a time to reflect on the people and experiences that shaped who we are. For so many of us, meaningful moments - a mentor's encouragement, a life-changing opportunity, a community that felt like home - helped define our path. Those experiences don't happen by accident. They are made possible by people who care. You can help create those same moments for future generations.
A legacy gift is a powerful way to make a lasting impact - and it may be simpler than you think.
