Dignity belongs to everyone.
This Pride Month, we stand with LGBTQ+ neighbors in the fight for equitable access to basic essentials like hygiene products.
No one should have to navigate barriers to accessing care simply for being who they are.
Why?
Because hygiene is a human need.
Because belonging matters.
Because every person should be seen, valued, and supported without conditions, without assumptions, and without labels.

đ A volunteer night built for community, connection, and showing up exactly as you are.
Pride Night at the CRC creates a judgment-free space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to serve together, meet new people, and make a real impact in our community.
Weâll pack hygiene kits, share laughs, and remind each other that care and dignity belongs to everyone. â¨

As of early 2026, 18 states still impose a sales tax on menstrual products. Commonly referred to as the âtampon taxâ in many of these states, pads and tampons are still classified as ânon-essentialâ or âluxuryâ items, while necessities like groceries and prescription medications are exempt.
Tennessee is one of them at a hefty 7% taxation rate on these critical supplies.
During Period Poverty Awareness Week, weâre calling attention to the barriers that continue to make basic care harder to access. Period products arenât optional. Theyâre not a luxury. Theyâre a necessity tied to health, dignity, and daily life.
Periods donât stop for inflation.
They donât pause for hardship.
And they shouldnât be taxed.

Period Poverty Awareness Week is here and weâre proud to stand alongside to shine a light on an issue that impacts millions every single month.
Periods donât pause for hard times. They donât stop for disasters, missed paychecks, or impossible choices. Yet too many people are still forced to go without the basic products they need to move through life with dignity.
At the CRC, this week is more than awareness. Itâs action. Itâs stocked shelves, packed kits, community partnerships, and conversations that refuse to let stigma stay silent.
Because menstrual products are not a luxury.
Because nobody should have to âmake it work.â
Because shame doesn't belong in a bathroom stall.
Because dignity belongs to everyone.
Join us this week as we advocate, educate, and work toward a future where period poverty no longer exists. đЏ

đHAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!!!
If youâve ever shown up, packed a kit, or been part of this mission â just know, thereâs someone behind the scenes making sure your time turns into real impact and that someone is Ryan. She leans in every day to coordinate volunteers and volunteer projects, and makes sure every single act of service actually reaches someone who needs it. Today, and everyday, the CRC is grateful for her leadership, insight, and heart for service.
We hope your day is filled with everything that makes your heart happy.
