Today, CACTN Executive Director Stephen Woerner joined leaders from the Sexual Assault Center of Middle Tennessee and Our Kids, along with bill sponsors Sen. Campbell and Rep. Freeman, for the official signing of SB920/HB679 by Governor Bill Lee. ✍️
This legislation guarantees that all minors who have experienced sexual assault have access to a forensic medical examination, regardless of parental consent. This represents an important step forward in ensuring children and youth can receive timely, trauma-informed care when they need it most.

Last week, CACTN Trainer Ruth Wiseman was in East Tennessee making an impact!
She delivered Getting Things Done to multiple CACs across the region, led a Crucial Conversations training, and wrapped up the week with a CPIT/MDT Collaboration Workshop for the 3rd Judicial District CAC and their CPIT partners.

As comes to a close, we know there’s still so much more work to be done — across Tennessee & throughout the U.S. — to keep these critical conversations going.
We are so grateful for the dedicated professionals in each Child Advocacy Center and Child Protection Investigative Team who show up every day with compassion and unwavering commitment to this mission. Together, we will keep raising awareness, strengthening families, and prioritizing the safety and well-being of every child. 💙
