l ensure interoperability among first responders and will take advantage of existing telecommunication assets, vendor competition and economies of scale to drive down costs to offer a dedicated public safety service at an attractive rate. FirstNet will create a single nationwide platform for public safety communications. TACN FirstNet is a multi-year program designed to provide a framework for Tennessee First Responders to work with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) in the design efforts for the nation’s first Public Safety Broadband Network. The goal of this program is to facilitate collaboration between Tennessee’s public safety community and FirstNet in defining the operational requirements, governance, and sustainability model for Tennessee’s portion of the National Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN).
